      Mixed Herd Short Bred and Open Heifers

      Description: Mixed herd, consists most of Holstein (black/white & red/white), Jersey cross (HoJo), and a handful of Linebacks. 39 cows in milk, 14 short bred heifers, 11 heifer calves who were serviced by our Holstein herd bull. The bred heifers and milk cows share housing - with open access to pasture and free-stall. Barn is set up with cows milking in stanchions, and all are familiar with headlocks. Feed consists of corn silage, hay, and grain with concentrate topdress. Good feet, healthy group. 1-3 months bred. 3-6 months old (250-500 lbs)
